Application: Edible Oils Production
Vegetable oil manufacture involves hydrogenation catalysts, bleaching earths and, occasionally, active coal, in order to decolourize the oil. These solids must be removed from the product after treatment. An important aspect of this is minimizing the loss of oil. With the help of heel volume filtration the entire batch is filtered off and the solids dried using steam and compressed air. The remaining oil in the cake is then less than 20%.
