The CONTIBAC®
The CONTIBAC® is a slightly modified FUNDABAC® filter used as a continuous thickener, producing concentrated slurries. Contrary to traditional thickener equipment a completely clear filtrate at a high flow-rate is obtained. A large range of suitable filter cloths guarantees the quality of the filtrate. Products with difficult filtration chacteristics: Only thin cakes are built up in short filtration cycles, in order to keep the filtration rate in the initial range of high through-put.
Function of the CONTIBAC® System
The CONTIBAC® Filter Type RC thickener for continuous operation	Prefiltration is followed by a shorter or longer phase of clarification. This phase is interrupted by a shut-off of the flow of product. Discharge is brought about by counter-current blow-back without draining the filter. This dislodges the cake, which descends to settle in the cone of the filter in the few seconds which follow the blow-back. The filtration cycle resumes normally. The thickened slurry is drawn off through a lock-hopper during the next filtration cycle without interrupting it.
